Erik was born on December 1st, 1987 in Breda, The Netherlands. He graduated from the Highschool of Performing Arts in Tilburg in 2009.
Education After he took singing lessons with the Dutch vocal coach Dieneke Bicknese-de Rhoter, he began a study at the Highschool for Performing Arts in Tilburg (The Netherlands), where he followed singing classes with Jeroen Manuhutu, the Dutch ambassador of the CVT (Complete Vocal Technique). He followed acting classes with Peter Kranen, Anneke Vorselaars, Marc Zeegers and Nelleke Zeegers. He followed dance classes with Mona Toebosch and both Ballroom and Latin-American classes with Ruud Goetjaer and Inge Turan-Brouwer. He followed several workshops with DJ Jansen, Joost de Jong, Michiel Kerbosch, Rein Kolpa and Rieneke van Nunen.
Experience Erik got his first leading part in the dancing spectacular Dancerent. His dream to be in the leading part of a musical production became reality in 2002 as he played The Man in Whistle Down The Wind by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman. More musicals followed, like Cyrano, Sweeney Todd and Rent, in which he played the part of Roger Davis. In 2007 he had to act in English because he started as a performer in The Amsterdam Dungeon.
Stage Director Erik started to work as a stage director 2009, although he kept on acting also. He directed shows as London Anno 1888 (which he also wrote), Game Over!, Mamma Mia! and tick, tick... BOOM!
Awards In 2003 Erik became Dutch Champion Ballroomdancing together with his sister Mandy Goetjaer.
